You are planning your wedding and you are thinking about perfect daily schedule of a wedding? What is the most appropriate and how much time you have to calculate for what. The rough daily schedule of a wedding is essential for the decision of the fixed points in time. So, already at the beginning of the planning, think about the time schedule, so that you can invite the guests at the proper time that suits you.
At a later stage, the calculated times will become relevant again. Namely, when you create a detailed script for the big day and thus also fix the deployment times of the service providers. Only then will it become clear whether everything will work out as you had imagined. Of course, this requires experience and tips. That’s why we would like to give you a few important key points in this blog.
Enjoy the start of the day
The wedding day often starts with the styling of the bride. However, in order to avoid stressful situations already at the beginning of the day, it is important to plan enough time for the styling. For a professional styling of the bride you should consider about 120 to 150 minutes. The styling of the groom should also not be neglected. The man is welcome to take some time in the morning as well; we calculate around 45 minutes for dressing.
Duration of a church or free wedding ceremony
The moment has come, you both stand at the altar and promise each other eternal love in front of all your dearest friends. But how much time do you have to plan for a wedding ceremony?
For a church wedding, you can expect about 60-75 minutes. Free weddings usually take less time, 40-45 minutes. Civil weddings are even shorter. It takes about 10-20 minutes until the newlyweds leave the registry office.

How long does the bridal couple shooting take?
On your big day, memory photos must be shot. Most bridal couples take about 45-90 minutes with the photographer to shoot beautiful bridal couple photos before or after the wedding ceremony. It is important to note that often a change of location or transport is also associated with the shooting and it, therefore, takes a little longer time. However, this is left individually to the bride and groom, whether this separate shooting is desired or not and where it is scheduled into the daily routine.
The underestimated time expenditure on group photos
A large and above all also underestimated time expenditure is the admission of the group photos. Often, various pictures are shot with predefined guest combinations. If you want to do this, you definitely have to allow enough time for it, since many guests are involved and it always takes a little longer until everyone has moved to the appropriate location. It definitely takes longer than you would think. The more combinations you want to shoot, the more time you will need. We recommend choosing no more than 4-5 combinations here so that you can get through in around 30 minutes. If more combinations are desired, it can quickly take up to an hour, which is not recommended for the guests, the photographer and also for you as a couple.
Duration of the aperitif and dinner.
Let’s move on to the culinary part of weddings. After the wedding ceremony, there is usually an aperitif. The duration of this aperitif should not exceed 90 minutes, otherwise, it will be perceived as too long for the guests.
Of course, on a perfect daily schedule of a wedding, a festive dinner should not be missing at a wedding. How much time should be allowed for each course so that the evening can be enjoyed without being too boring? For each appetizer or intermediate course, we calculate about 45 minutes, including clearing the table. For the main course, we calculate 60 minutes, so that – as the name indicates – the main course can be given the proper attention. But at the beginning of the dinner, don’t forget to allow enough time until the guests are seated in the room and the first drink service could take place.
To make sure that everything goes according to plan on your big day and that the time schedule can be adhered to as well as possible, we as wedding planners are usually also available to the bridal couples on site for the implementation and for adhering to the time schedule.
