More than just the wedding day

A wedding is more than just a day full of emotions. It is a milestone, a celebration of love that you want to share with the most important people in your life. So why not extend the celebrations and turn it into an entire wedding weekend? Especially for destination weddings, this is the perfect opportunity to give your guests not only an unforgettable wedding day, but also several days filled with shared experiences, culinary highlights, and relaxed encounters. And of course, it is also a beautiful way to bring different cultures and countries closer to the people so that it is more than just the wedding day at the end.

A wonderful example of this is the wedding of Michael and Anna Lea. The couple lives in the United States, but for their big “I do” they returned to the bride’s homeland, the Swiss Alps. Around 200 guests were invited, about 90 percent of them from the United States. A destination wedding with international flair and a touch of Swiss heart and soul.

More than just the wedding day

Thursday

The celebrations began with an exclusive golf tournament on Thursday, which was held close to the wedding venue. In a small circle with their closest family, they played, laughed, and thus set the mood. Moreover, the picturesque mountain backdrop created a relaxed and stylish beginning to the wedding weekend.

Friday

On Friday, everything revolved around connection, for at Lake Trübsee alpine coziness met international curiosity. Since the deep-blue mountain lake was framed by majestic peaks, it provided the perfect stage for a relaxed gathering. While the children played on the playgrounds and explored nature, the guests at the same time enjoyed Swiss specialties. They tasted Älplermagronen, raclette, and regional wines, while the heartfelt decoration remained rooted in local traditions. Finally, the alphorn players performed, and their deep, powerful sounds revived authentic Swiss heritage. Thus, unforgettable goosebump moments were created for all.

Saturday

The wedding day itself, Saturday, was celebrated at the magnificent Kempinski Hotel in Engelberg, and it became unforgettable. Since a free ceremony full of emotions, accompanied by a live pianist, formed the heart, the atmosphere was moving. Afterwards, the celebrations continued in full swing, for there was dancing, heartfelt emotions, and countless unforgettable moments. Thus, it was a celebration that not only brought people together but also united different cultures seamlessly.

A wedding weekend like this creates not only memories but also connections. It allows families and friends to get to know each other better, to share in the anticipation, and to feel the magic of love in many moments.

There are many possibilities for a successful wedding weekend: a welcome dinner the evening before, a joint yoga session in the morning, a boat ride with brunch, or a relaxed after-party with regional snacks. Whether sporty, cultural, or completely laid-back – what matters is what suits you best.
