When a landscape transforms into a white winter wonderland, the perfect setting is created for a winter wedding. We recently had the pleasure of planning an unforgettable winter wedding in Lenzerheide, where snow, coziness and elegance were the main features. Wedding ceremony in the cold
The ceremony took place outdoors in the middle of a snow-covered mountain landscape. Despite the cold temperatures, there was a special magic in the air. The guests were provided with blankets and cozy furs to brave the cold and enjoy the ceremony to the maximum. They sat on sledges that fitted perfectly into the winter landscape.
Winter challenges
A wedding in the mountains during the winter months requires detailed preparation. The biggest challenge is definitely the weather. Snowstorms or slippery roads can disrupt the schedule. Another challenge with a winter wedding is the uncertainty of whether there will actually be enough snow – because without the white beauty, much of the magical atmosphere would be lost and the sleigh ceremony would not have the same charm. It is therefore important to plan different venues for different weather conditions.
Of course, the temperature also plays a major role. We provided warm drinks such as punch and mulled wine for the guests, while furs and blankets provided the necessary warmth. It was particularly important not to make the ceremony too long to ensure that everyone felt comfortable. It was a particular challenge for the musicians to accompany the ceremony musically in the cold. Their voices had to stay warm and their fingers had to withstand the icy strings of the guitar.
Transporting the equipment was a real team effort: from the sledges for the ceremony to the decorations and the glasses for the champagne tower, everything had to be carefully organized. Our team arrived a day early to ensure that the set-up could take place smoothly and on time. In winter, weather and road conditions are difficult to predict, so other service providers such as musicians, photographers and videographers also had to be on site early to be ready to start on time on the wedding day. However, this additional planning also had an impact on the bride and groom’s budget, as overnight stays and longer working hours had to be taken into consideration.
Winter decoration
The decorations focused on warm accents that created an exciting contrast to the cool surroundings. Countless candles bathed the room in a romantic light and created an inviting atmosphere. The color combination of white, black and light grey gave the wedding an elegant touch, while natural elements such as wood and furs made the ambience warm and cozy.
The decorations not only impressed with their winter elegance, but also with creative details that were memorable for the guests. One of the many highlights was the original shot wall, which also served as a seating plan – a real eye-catcher that was both functional and entertaining. In addition, there were other interactive elements that provided entertainment, such as a photo box for fun memories and an audio phone where guests could leave personal messages for the bride and groom. Such lovingly designed extras made the wedding an unforgettable experience for everyone present.
An unforgettable moment for everyone involved
This winter wedding was an unforgettable experience not only for the bride and groom, but also for all the guests. The mixture of the breathtaking scenery, loving details and the warm atmosphere was simply unique.
As wedding planners, we will always remember this wedding and it was a fantastic experience for us too.
