In Switzerland, the weather is always quite changeable. But we felt that it can be even more dramatic in the mountains at this wonderful mountain wedding in central Switzerland.
We started this wedding weekend by transporting our equipment to the mountains on Friday. It was a little more time-consuming than usual to transport it via a large gondola lift, a natural path to the chairlift, up the chairlift and then to the mountain chalet. The fact that we had perfect weather with around 18 degrees and sunshine was of course quite convenient. After all, weather like this is not a given in the fall.
Unfortunately, the forecast for the next day – the wedding day – was not nearly the same. It forecast fog and rain for the day on which all the guests made the same journey by gondola and chairlift to the mountain chalet. And so it happened that we didn’t see anything of the mountains for the time being. However, this did not affect the bride and groom’s mood. And just as they planned their photo shoot for two, the clouds opened up and we could see the mountains.
Even though we unfortunately had to have the wedding ceremony indoors in the chalet and could only toast indoors afterwards – mainly because of the temperature – the atmosphere was great. The guests were made for this mountain wedding.
But that wasn’t all. The guests and we spent the night in the chalet with the other service providers. The next morning, when we woke up and moved the curtain in the room aside, we saw snow. The first of the season, and not just a little. So – after a wonderfully warming breakfast – it was time to get the equipment in the snow back into the chairlift, up the path and down into the valley on the gondola lift.
The mountain wedding was not only unique because of the special weather, which felt like it changed every minute. The bride and groom also made this wedding something very special for us. Being so close to the couple in a chalet and celebrating together was also very special for us.
