Question one: “How far along are you in your wedding planning and what are your ideas for your big day?” This is how we usually start our initial conversations with couples to find out in which areas our services and expertise are still needed. However, the answer from one couple this year was a little special:
- Date – check, 08.07.2023.
- Location – check, in the heart of Zurich.
- Catering – check, included in the location.
- Decoration – check, we organize flowers.
- Transport – check, we do it by public transport.
- Photographer – check, already booked.
- Music – check, we have requested a DJ.
- Wedding officiant – check, she has been recommended to us.
- Cake – we do not need.
Question two: “Well, what do you need from us? What support would you like?
Answer: “We don’t know if it’s the wedding of our dreams. Would we rather have urban style or mountain wedding? Somehow we would like to combine both.”
This wedding was so far so good and with a little finishing touches would have been ready to go. But the two were not convinced with full passion and heart blood. Despite the super venue right on Lake Zurich, the two were not on fire for their big day. “We are outdoor people, love nature and in our free time we like to ride our bikes or otherwise be in the mountains.” After this statement, it was clear to us that the two will not celebrate their dream wedding in the big city of Zurich.
Although we didn’t have much time for planning, we created a new concept. We transformed the urban style wedding into a mountain wedding with a modern touch. We started with the search for a new venue in the mountains. The radius was limited and we found a suitable venue in Scuol in the Engadine. They were very happy with their new venue. However, another obstacle was finding the new wedding venue. They finally decided on a meadow, from which one had a wide panoramic view into the valley and the mountains. Seasonality and sustainability were also important to them. This was also one of the reasons why pompous flowers were taken out of the concept and herbs were used as a perfect substitute for decoration. These were then given to the guests as a gift.
When there is such a short-term and significant change of concept, it takes enough time on the one hand, but also professional support from service providers. During the planning phase, you could tell that they had confidence in our work, which was also extremely important for us with such a change of concept. Hand in hand with all service providers, we were able to guide our bride and groom well through the planning and transformation of the wedding. The most beautiful thing for us, was the effect that the change of the venue had on them. The looseness and passion could be felt, as they also have an emotional connection to the Engadine.
We recommend and wish all future bridal couples to be brave! Be brave to make your dream wedding come true, even if it seems impossible. Believe in your dreams and the realization of them and don’t be satisfied with less. For our couple, it was definitely worth it to turn the tables at the last minute so they could make their dream wedding in the mountains with an urban touch happen. If you’ve already found the courage but are stuck, we’re here to help!
We wish all couples the wedding of their dreams.
All the best from the Liebesding team
