130 wedding guests from all over the world at a Destination Wedding in Switzerland – Why did so many people gather for a wedding in the small village of Mürren? Because it is simply unbelievably beautiful here in Switzerland. Have a look at it:
We want greens and cows. That was the first thing Heidi and Stefan told us about their idea of their wedding. Why is it so special? Even though the names of the bride and groom don’t reveal it at first glance, Heidi and Stefan live in and are from the US. So the two of them wanted a Destination Wedding in Switzerland. On the one hand with Swiss flair, on the other hand typical American elements shouldn’t be missing.
Typical American, the bride is accompanied on her big day by many beautiful bridesmaids. So was Heidi. She met with her friends for the getting ready in a charming wooden chalet in Mürren.
Since the bride and groom wanted to see each other for the first time at the wedding ceremony, there was no “classic first look”. Instead, the bride’s father and brothers were allowed to see beautiful Heidi before the wedding ceremony. The reaction of the father at the first look with his charming daughter is priceless. At the same time, the groom also got the party started with his groomsmen the morning of the wedding day, counteracting some of the nervousness.
The journey to the wedding venue is already a highlight here in Mürren. By train – or rather by no less than four extra trains – all wedding guests arrived at the Winteregg and were all fascinated by the incredible view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. A more idyllic location for a wedding ceremony can hardly be imagined.
With various decoration highlights, the Swiss flair was incorporated into the destination wedding in Switzerland. The probably most famous mountains of Switzerland were still not enough to round off the Swiss flair. Heidi and Stefan also wanted the alphorn, Swiss cowbells and a wedding arch made of skis. The beautiful floral decor transformed the rustic mountain restaurant into a dream wedding venue. With a few but purposefully selected flowers and decorative elements such as table runners, matching napkins or tea lights, a great effect can already be achieved. If the venue and its view already sets the standard so high, sometimes less decoration is simply more.
Basically, we always advise our bridal couples not to take countless group photos. This is boring for the guests, exhausting for the bride and groom and always takes a lot of time. Of course, this stunning mountain backdrop was still used for numerous pictures – and rightly so. But it doesn’t always have to be the classic photos with put-on smiles, with all the family and friends lined up. The coolness of the bridesmaids and groomsmen may also be reflected in the wedding photos. During the intimate bride and groom shoot, the “newly-weds” were then allowed to enjoy some togetherness.
Until 130 guests got their food at the buffet, it takes a moment despite good organization. Therefore, the party in the spectacular evening atmosphere was started spontaneously already during dinner. Some spontaneity is of course always possible and desired, even despite thoughtful detailed planning of the wedding day. The cooler temperatures were danced away and the party then lasted until the late evening and night hours.
