Marriage for all goes into the next round, as the opponents have submitted the necessary signatures and the referendum has come about. So the fight for equal rights must continue. Despite progressive developments, marriage for all is still often a taboo in Switzerland. We clearly believe that unconditional love knows no borders.
We were allowed to plan and accompany several same-sex weddings in the last years and have only the best memories of these beautiful days. The unconditional love and the relaxed and informal atmosphere at these weddings have spoken for themselves.
Although our couples were able to say “I do” in front of their loved ones and really celebrate afterwards, according to the law perspective they are only in a registered partnership and not in a marriage and therefore do not enjoy the same rights.
In Switzerland, the rights of each individual have a traditionally high value. At the same time, privacy is considered very important as well. Two basic values that also speak for marriage for all. Homosexual acts have been legal in Switzerland since 1942. And since 2007, the registered partnership of homosexual couples has been possible.
In addition, same-sex marriage has been legally regulated in principle since December 2020. Its implementation is only subject to the latest referendum.
From our point of view, there are a couple of arguments that should make Switzerland think twice:
– Marriage for all is a historic step for equality.
– It is a logical further development of marriage.
– Switzerland is ready for marriage for all.
– There should be no borders in love!
It is time for Switzerland to move towards marriage for all, recognizing same-sex marriages and granting them the same rights. We have always been convinced that love should be celebrated and recognized as each individual feels and lives it.
